I must say I've been DYING for a tour guide like #Oakland's own/former #RickiStevenson to answer so many questions I've had about how blacks were able to escape the hell that is slavery and find liberation in a place 7500 miles away. So much information I dunno where to begin. From #JoeLouis not being allowed to take his winnings in the states and him investing in nightclubs over in Paris. #BlackJackJohnson being unable to make a living in the states. #EarthaKitt pulling a #JosephineBaker visiting once and deciding to never come back home. #MarshallMajorTaylor being the first international superstar in sports and having major influence on the #TourDeFrance name em #IdaBWells to #LangstonHughes to #JamesBaldwin to #EubieBlake to #QuincyJones to #AlexandreDumas (Sr,Jr&3rd) please take this tour y'all.
